ABC Oboe Embouchure

1) Embouchure is too tight, pinched; decrease pressure in embouchure, more relaxed

2)  Reed is too stiff or closed off; Check Thickness of Reed

1) Lack of support/horn angle too high; more support/faster air, reduce angle of oboe

2) Reed to soft; clip the reed slightly shorter, or adjust the width of the reed.

1) Embouchure is too loose; firmer lips, corners.  Roll lower lip in slightly

2) Lack of Support; More support, faster air.

1) Pinching or Biting reed; More “oh”, seperate teeth, less reed in mouth.

2)Reed too soft; Change lenth and/or width of reed
