When he is front of the mimic, other rappers know he is the best and become nervous because they could never amount to Miller. He works hard to earn where he is today and today is the “Best Day Ever”.! ! The videos of each song are very different In many ways. In Kathy Perry’s video, she Is depicted as Cleopatra. Cleopatra was a symbol of feminine power back in ancient Egypt.
This ties back into Perry being a “Dark Horse” where they both end with success and power. The exotic nature In the video can go to show that Perry Is unique and one of a kind. She powers which is similar to the “magic” that some women have over men in which they brainwash them. In Mac Miller’s video, it is the exact opposite. There are no special effects but in fact Just normal day activities. In the beginning, there is a home video of young Miller who is shown rapping to Rappers Delight which shows his early love of rap and where his career stemmed from.
He wants to control his life so that he ends up being sung by another little kid Just like he did. The video depicts Miller and his friends on a summer day Just hanging out. There are cigarettes and drugs throughout the video but nothing major to the main idea of the video which is the struggle to gain power of the Rap Industry.! The theme of power can also be found within the music. In Kathy Perry’s video, the music is upbeat and energetic but also has a magical tone to it, almost like it is gaining power over the listener. The beat is also consistent which can be viewed as Perry always having a consistent win over every guy that shows up.
In Mac Miller’s video he music is calm and mellow but also upbeat. Miller is having the best day because he’s gained power in the Rap Industry. It also relaxes you and without a relaxed mind, nothing can be overcome.! ! Both music videos even though very different in many ways, both show many signs of power and control. Kathy Perry wants to control men and have the power in all of Egypt while Mac Miller wants the power and control of rappers and the Rap Industry.
