My favorite is Hip-hop because of its culture and because according to Wisped “rap origins from it Hip-Hop. ” Wisped also states that “Rap is a music genre consisting of a stylized rhythmic music that commonly accompanies rapping, a rhythmic and rhyming speech that is chanted. It had been developed as part of hip hop culture, a subculture defined by four key elements: Mincing/rapping, Digging/scratching, break dancing, and graffiti writing.
Rappers also like to MAC or Rap over beat boxing. Now if hip-hop or rap isn’t your kind of daily music or any type of music to listen to, you’re probably wondering what is beat boxing. Well according to Wisped, “Beat boxing is a form of vocal percussion primarily involving the art of producing drum beats, rhythm, and musical sounds using one’s mouth, lips, tongue, and voice. It may also involve singing, vocal imitation of turntables, and the simulation of horns, strings, and other musical Instruments. ” Beat boxing still today is connected with hip-hop culture.
Rapping, also referred to as Mincing or emceeing which is a vocal style in which the artist speaks lyrically, in rhyme and verse, usually to an instrumental or synthesized beat. Rappers may write, memorize, or Improvise their lyrics and perform their works a chapel or to a beat. Now that is why today my favorite rapper who Is no longer alive Is Notorious B. I. G. , who is also known as Biggie Smalls. He used to battle In the streets of Brooklyn Rapping over the sounds of beat boxing. He also was also a great MAC. I love to go online to You-Tube. M and watch some of his rap battles or his music videos. Biggies 1994 debut album, Ready to Die, was a smash hit. The 4 singles were released from the album: “Juicy”, “Big Poppa”, “One More Chance” and a promotional track: “Warning”. Those 4 tracks still now I listen to and are my favorite Biggie smalls songs.
